Many of our guests ask us “Why the name Seven?”. I think we can all agree that the number seven historically has been recognized for its significance on a global scale by both scientists and ancient cultures. In the present day we only discover more and more about this number.
The purpose of this blog is to briefly reveal some of the reasons that explain why we chose the Name “Seven” for an ayahuasca retreat center. So let’s get into it!
The number 7 is universally considered the most sacred and spiritual number of all; its vibration forms a bridge between the human and the divine. It is no coincidence that the number seven appears in mythologies, as well as in so many religions and ancient philosophies. From the perspective of sacred geometry, the number seven represents the perfection of creation.
The Triangle and The Square
The triangle represents spirit, divinity, and the most sacred trinities – such as the Inca trinity in the Andes (condor, serpent, and jaguar), which were power animals to the ancestors. In the Christian religion, there is the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The square represents matter, the earth, the four elements, and the four cardinal directions.
The sum of these numbers (3 + 4) leads us to the number seven – spirit mastering matter.
The Number Seven
On the spiritual path, the number seven serves as a map of evolution; we see this reflected in both our anatomy and the cosmos.
In Hinduism, the human being possesses seven energy centers known as chakras; the spiritual path involves activating and aligning these chakras from the root to the crown.
Divine Creation and Rest as Law
Creation and the Void
The Book of Genesis recounts that God created the world in six days, and the seventh day was a time of sacred rest – a moment to pause, meditate, enjoy life, look inward, and reflect on lessons learned.
The Moon and Its Phases
Every seven days, the Moon reminds us of the shifting phases – much like the tides that stir our inner waters – serving as a reminder that we are composed of both light and darkness.
The Seven Universal Laws
The seven universal laws are a set of philosophical and spiritual principles
that govern the workings of all existence:
- The Law of Mentalism
- The Law of Correspondence
- The Law of Vibration
- The Law of Polarity
- The Law of Rhythm
- The Law of Cause and Effect
- The Law of Gender

There are seven days in the week – a time cycle originally based on observing the seven celestial bodies visible since ancient times.
There are seven wonders of the world; whether in the ancient or modern lists, these seven wonders represent the pinnacle of human architecture and engineering.
There are seven colors in the rainbow – the visible light spectrum that reveals nature’s chromatic diversity within the apparent simplicity of a single ray of light.
There are seven musical notes – the fundamental basis:

- Re
- Mi
- Fa
- Sol
- La
- Si
Upon these notes the systems of harmony and composition are built.
The “Seven Seas” is a historical and mythological concept found in many civilizations, referring to all the known, navigable waters of the planet.
The seven metals of alchemy:
- Gold
- Silver
- Copper
- Mercury
- Iron
- Tin
- Lead
These metals are linked to the seven classical planets and the stages of inner transformation.
Conclusion
These are just a few examples. As we can see, the number seven is sacred, connecting the spiritual world with the material world.
“Seven” is more than just a name; it represents a mystical union between the sacred ancient and the understanding of modern life. Spanning seven days, the retreat offers not a quick fix, but a complete process. It is an invitation to a commitment requiring preparation, immersion, catharsis, and integration; it embodies the full journey from shadow to light, from nothingness to creation – a commitment to love, harmony, and rebirth.
